Deputy Minister Yelkenci: 'Young people carry our cultural heritage to the future with lines'

Deputy Minister Yelkenci: 'Young people carry our cultural heritage to the future with lines'


The Turkish Panel and 'I Draw My Epics' comic book competition award ceremony held within the scope of the 'Read-Sorum Writing-Sorry' project organized by the Ministry of National Education was held with the participation of Deputy Minister of National Education Yelkenci.

Culture Journey of Youth

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Yelkenci, 'Read-Reading-Signs' project was initiated to encourage young generations to think, write and produce, stating that the project has reached an important stage in terms of cultural transfer.

Yelkenci, in his speech pointed out the importance of cultural and literary heritage, "Oguz Kagan, Ergenekon, Migration, Manas, Satuk Buğra Han and Battal Gazi such as our epics, cultural transfer, literary sociology and identity construction are extremely valuable sources," he said.

Cultural heritage with contemporary narrative techniques

Pointing out the importance of the 'I Draw My Epics' contest, Yelkenci said that young people interpret the epics in a contemporary way with visual and linear expression.

Türkiye Century Model Model

In his speech, Yelkenci touched on the Turkish Century Maarif Model and said that this model blends universal information with national and spiritual values.

At the end of the ceremony, 11 works on the comic book competition organized for high schools, 11 works on the epics of Oguz Kagan, Alp Er Tunga, Migration, Battal Gazi and Manas were awarded.
