Türkiye will host the International Water Forum for the fifth time, organized to address the effects of global climate change on water management.
Global Water Agenda Will Be Determined in Istanbul
Tarım ve Orman Bakanı İbrahim Yumaklı, announced that Turkey continues to lead the development of sustainable policies regarding water management in the context of global climate change.
“Türkiye Assumes International Responsibility in Water Management”
Yumaklı, küresel iklim değişikliğinin yol açtığı drought, flood, inundation and forest fires gibi afetlerin yalnızca Türkiye’de değil, dünya genelinde ciddi etkiler oluşturduğuna dikkat çekti. “Alınacak önlemler konusunda uluslararası düzeyde topyekun bir kararlılık gerekmektedir.” diyen Yumaklı, Türkiye’nin küresel sorunların çözümünde aktif rol üstlenmeye devam ettiğini vurguladı.
“Strengthening Water Resilience: From Innovation to Action”
5-6 Mayıs 2026 tarihlerinde İstanbul’da yapılacak forumun ana temasının “Strengthening Water Resilience: From Innovation to Action” olacağını ifade eden Yumaklı, toplantıda yerli ve yabancı bilim insanları, araştırmacılar ve yetkililerin küresel ve bölgesel su gündemine katkı sunacağını söyledi.

Minister Yumaklı emphasized that the Istanbul International Water Forum has been a respected platform that has introduced Turkey's vision in water management to the world and strengthened cooperation and partnerships since the year it was first held.
