DEVA Party Deputy Chairman Lawyer İdris Şahin Speaks at the Compassion and Labor Award Ceremony: 'Development is Not Possible Without Sweat and Mental Sweat'

The Compassion and Labor Award Ceremony, organized by Cumhur News Agency for the sixth time this year, brought together exemplary stories of kindness and sacrifice from all over Türkiye on the same stage. Representatives of 17 political parties and 173 civil society organizations attended the ceremony, while DEVA Party Deputy Chairman and Ankara MP Lawyer İdris Şahin also made a meaningful speech.
 
 
'Fighting with conscience against moral desertification'
In his assessment before the ceremony, Şahin stated that they were in a period where social values ​​were weakening and drew attention to the awareness that such organizations carry:
 
'We are in a period where a morality is becoming arid and deserted. Concepts such as compassion and labor are not only emotional; they are also the foundations of social development. Reminding such values ​​once again will give society a breath of fresh air.'
 
'The sweat of the mind should also be shed along with the sweat of the brow'
Emphasizing in his speech that labor is not just a physical effort, Şahin made the following statements regarding the nature of labor and production:
 
'In an environment where no sweat and mental effort is put into a country, there will be no economic, scientific or cultural development. That's why not just labor but also conscious and productive labor is required. This ceremony gives exactly this message.'
 
"There is no point in living without compassion"
Şahin said that the loss of compassion in society affects not only individuals but also the entire social structure, and expressed the importance of compassion and tolerance with the following words:
 
'There is no point in living in a society where there is no mercy, compassion and love for each other. Therefore, our support for organizations that fill the essence of such concepts is unlimited.'
 
'Respect for every family, gratitude for every effort'
At the end of his speech on stage, Şahin congratulated everyone who attended the award ceremony and concluded his speech by stating that labor begins in the family:
 
'I offer my respects to every family that raises their children with sweat and effort. I wholeheartedly congratulate everyone who is at the night of mercy and labor. Have a blessed evening.'
