"Forest fires should be managed with the logic of war"

Settar Aslan defined the forest fires as a war and stated that the workers who took part in the struggle were “fire fighter”.

Stating that the General Directorate of Forestry has a powerful infrastructure in terms of technical terms, Aslan said that 105 helicopters, 27 aircraft, 1,776 people and 831 heavy construction machinery were included in the inventory.

Aslan said that the demand for 15 thousand new fire workers of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry was not met by the Ministry of Finance, and that the current recruitment of 4,500 workers fills only the replacement of retired.

Stating that the fires after 17.00 should be taken care of, Aslan said, “Aircraft can not be used at night. This makes it difficult to control the fire. So far 38 people have been arrested for this reason.
