A new guide to guide parents during the YKS preference process has been published

The Ministry said that the guide aims to contribute to the health of the students and parents' preference process.

19 thousand 566 preference consultancy units were established in 81 provinces

In order to provide support to students and parents during the preference period, MoNE created 19 thousand 566 university preference consultancy units in 81 provinces throughout Türkiye.

Guidance teachers and psychological counselors in the consultancy units will carry out individual interviews to help students discover their interests and abilities, identify their goals and make conscious choices.

Call for parents to support the process

In the guide, it is emphasized that the university preference process is not only a ranking process based on exams, and that the life expectations, interests and abilities of the students should be taken into consideration.

The importance of investigating criteria such as academic staff, social facilities, scholarship opportunities, job finding rates, dormitory, transportation and housing in the election of universities and departments was also reminded.
