AK Party Provincial Chairman Mehmet Aydemir: "DSI has finished its job, the problem in Balıkesir is the negligence of the municipality"
In the debate that started over the Çay Stream Project in Balıkesir, AK Party Provincial Chairman Mehmet Aydemir criticized the CHP Metropolitan Municipality for "perception municipalism".
AK Party Balıkesir Provincial Chairman Mehmet Aydemir, who made a statement regarding the Çay Stream Project debate that came to the agenda in Balıkesir, targeted the CHP Metropolitan Municipality.
“DSI fulfilled its duty”
Aydemir stated that the 850-meter reinforced concrete works between Başçeşme Cemetery and Demirciler Street were completed on June 27, 2025, and the bridge works were completed on August 15, 2025.
“The municipality accepted the job but did not take any steps”
Aydemir said that the Metropolitan Municipality sent a letter to DSI stating that the works would be completed as soon as possible, but there was no progress.
“Citizens are victims, CHP is after perception”
Drawing attention to the problems experienced during the recent rains, Aydemir said, "BASKI's efforts to take precautions at the last minute are a picture of delayed municipalism. If it had been worked on time, there would be no flood risk today."
