CHP Internal Affairs Policy Board Chairman and Izmir Deputy Murat Bakan paid a condolence visit to the family in Yozgat of Chief Inspector Mehmet Cengiz, who committed suicide in Hakkari.

He should be suspended for the sake of the investigation
Murat Bakan stated that the Hakkari Provincial Police Chief should be suspended for the safety of the investigation of the Minister of Internal Affairs Mustafa Çiftçi and said, "What needs to be done in these circumstances is that the Ministry of Internal Affairs suspends the provincial police chief during the investigation. An allegation that is not related to a police officer who lost his life is being brought to the agenda, this chief's remaining on duty will affect the safety of the investigation."

Condolence Visit to the Family and Criticisms
In his speech during the condolence ceremony, the Minister addressed Hakkari Provincial Police Chief and Hakkari Governor and said, "Do you have that much conscience? Do you have that much mercy? Why didn't you express your condolences to this family? People entrust their children to you. We will hold you accountable for this."

The Minister stated that they communicated directly and indirectly with police officers in Hakkari and that the allegations were confirmed from multiple sources.
