Mersin Metropolitan Mayor Vahap Seçer: "Everyone knows that things are not going well in Turkey"

Türkiye Belediyeler Birliği Başkan Vekili ve Mersin Büyükşehir Belediye Başkanı Vahap Seçer, Halk TV’de yayınlanan A new morning with Gözde Şeker programına konuk oldu. Yerel yönetimlerden ülke siyasetine kadar pek çok konuda açıklamalarda bulunan Seçer, ekonomik sorunlardan yargı süreçlerine, eğitimden parti içi tartışmalara kadar geniş bir değerlendirme yaptı.

Evaluating the economic and political atmosphere throughout the country in the program, Seçer said that developments in Turkey negatively affect the psychology of citizens.

"There is no understanding of the state of law"
Referring to the operations against the mayors of the CHP, Elener, emphasized the independence of the judiciary.

"We need to keep hope alive"
Stating that they will continue to resist without fear, Seçer, "the trust of the people like us, people who have already been afraid of the country has already surrendered. We should not fear and keep hope alive," he said.

"The ruling sees that it is worn out."
Selener argued that the government is an attempt to consolidate social support of the operations of CHP municipalities.

"CHP is the insurance of the Republic of Türkiye"
Referring to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's meeting with US President Donald Trump, Seçer said that the developments in foreign policy damage Turkey's reputation.

Emphasis on education, economy and justice
Expressing that the biggest agenda of the citizen is the economy, he drew attention to the problems in the education system.

Call for unity in the party
Selener, the CHP discussions should not occupy the agenda, "We spend our energy in ourselves, we do not leave energy to the opponent. CHP should finish these discussions," he said.

"Power is in our palm"
The CHP is an alternative to power, arguing that the citizens drew attention to the desire of change.
