TÜSİAD President Orhan Turan: 'The growth model without industry is unthinkable'
TÜSİAD President Orhan Turan stressed that a sustainable growth model without the industrial sector of Türkiye will not be possible.
Turkish Industrialists' and Business People's Association (TÜSİAD) High Advisory Board (YİK) meeting was held yesterday in Istanbul.
Economic slowdown was confirmed
Turan said that the growth data described for the first quarter of 2025 in Türkiye has been confirmed that the economy has slowed down.
It was emphasized that the industry should be strengthened
Turan stated that the economy is not only a monetary policy and underlined that structural transformations should be implemented.
The Customs Union needs to be updated
Turan also stated that the Customs Union, which is 30 years old, should be updated urgently and asked for Türkiye to revive the full membership process to the European Union.
Anti -inflation and interest rates
Omer Aras, the Chairman of the High Consultation Board, said that real interest rates, which negatively affect economic growth, contribute to reducing inflation.
