Critical warning from Erdoğan to Trump: 'The disaster that will set the entire region on fire must be prevented'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with United States President Donald Trump. During the meeting, bilateral relations and regional developments, especially the increasing tensions between Israel and Iran, were discussed.
 
 
'Trump's call for peace is welcome'
Erdoğan expressed that he found US President Trump's recent statements regarding establishing peace in the region positive. Stating that ending the conflicts between Israel and Iran should be the primary goal, Erdoğan emphasized that urgent steps should be taken to prevent a disaster that would drag the entire region into fire.
 
'Diplomacy is the only solution'
President Erdoğan said that diplomacy was the only valid way to resolve nuclear disputes. Stating that Türkiye was ready to play a facilitating role in this process, Erdoğan said that all parties had responsibilities to ensure peace.
 
'Spiral of violence leads to economic and civilian losses'
Erdoğan also said that the conflict process that started with Israel's attacks on Iran has caused great losses in both economic and civilian terms. Noting that this dangerous course could cause irreversible damage to both sides, Erdoğan stated that the spiral of violence must be stopped as soon as possible.
