Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy: "We will make Istanbul the capital of world tourism"

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy came together with the representatives of tourism sector in Istanbul and made statements about the tourism targets of the city.

Minister Ersoy stated that they have taken steps that will make the tourism sector resistant to crises since the day they took office and said, ık We have not made decisions far from the reality of the sector at the desk. We have always taken steps with the actors in the sector. In this way, Turkish tourism has succeeded in shining like a star in the world.

The number of tourists in Istanbul reached 13.5 million
Noting that Istanbul has a strong potential in tourism, Ersoy said that the number of tourists coming to the city in the first 9 months of 2025 reached 13.5 million.

Historical Record in Cruise Tourism
Minister Ersoy reported that approximately 1.5 million passengers were hosted at 18 cruise ports in January -August period and this was the highest figure in the last 12 years.

Haydarpaşa and Sirkeci Cultural Center will be
Ersoy, the restoration of Haydarpaşa and Sirkeci Gari will continue to function and will serve the field of culture and art announced.

Ersoy emphasized that the aim of all these works is to increase the tourism revenues of Istanbul and to make the city one of the centers of world tourism.

Speaking at the meeting, AK Party Beyoğlu District President Kasım Fırat explained the support given to the tourism sector and recalled that the Cultural Road Festival has spread to Turkey starting from Istanbul.
