Dilek Gappi: "Legislation should be not punishing, but should be encouraging qualified publications"

Support for Palestinian journalists
Dilek Gappi, a member of the General Assembly and President of the Izmir Journalists Association, drew attention to journalists who lost their lives as a result of Israel's attacks.
Call for a change of legislation
Gappi, who made evaluations about the functioning of the institution, said that the legislation should be updated.
Gappi said that the local press had a hard time due to the economic bottleneck, “Instead of punishing the wrong, we must have a legislation that encourages qualified publications. We should give our energy against those who ignore the press, not each other,” he said.
