İYİ Party's Lütfü Türkkan: 'The state does not set traps, this nation has become unable to go on holiday with radar fines'

İYİ Party Kocaeli Deputy Lütfü Türkkan argued in his speech at the TBMM General Assembly that citizens are being lured into an economic trap even during the holiday through radar applications. İYİ Party's Lütfü Türkkan: 'The state does not set traps, this nation has become unable to go on holiday with radar fines'

İYİ Party Kocaeli Deputy Lütfü Türkkan made harsh criticisms of both public finance and the production and tourism sectors in his speech on the group proposal of the NEW ROAD Group regarding economic and tax policies at the TBMM General Assembly.

'Citizens are being robbed on the holiday route with radar'
Türkkan, who reacted to the traffic fines imposed on citizens during the holiday period, said, "When the Minister of Finance could not collect taxes, he left the job to the Minister of Interior. He installed radars every 10 kilometers. This nation is being robbed with fines on the holiday route."

'The state does not set traps, you have become the trap government'
Responding to the objections of the AKP deputies, “If only he hadn’t gone fast,” Türkkan said, “Speed is different, traps are different. The state does not set traps. You are now setting traps on the roads that you set in social life. You are a government that punishes citizens with traps.”

'One third of the tax collected is VAT, this is not tax justice'
Criticizing the tax system, Türkkan said, “One third of the tax collected in Türkiye is from VAT. Income and corporate taxes are not as much as VAT. Because you keep the rates very high, no one files a return.”

'Industry is collapsing, tourism is empty; you cannot manage the economy'
Türkkan, who conveyed the situation on the field as a Kocaeli MP, said, “Production has fallen, exporters are vomiting blood. Foreign exchange is being suppressed, tourism regions are empty. The economy has been in crisis for seven years. This is failure to manage.”

'Defense spending is increasing, welfare is decreasing'
Türkkan, who also touched on defense spending, said, “The defense budget is increasing but the welfare of society is decreasing. It is said that no new weapons have entered the TSK inventory for twenty years. The Minister should come and explain.”

'Our name is Ahmet, we are leaving, entrusted to God'
Continuing his speech with harsh criticisms of the economic management, Türkkan concluded his words by saying, “This economy is managed in a manner entrusted to God. Imbalance prevails in every field.”
