Mehmet Aşıla from the New Welfare Party: 'The basic salary is a freak, retirement salaries should be increased to the minimum wage level'

Mehmet Aşıla, the Kocaeli MP of the New Welfare Party, drew attention to the grievances experienced by retirees before the upcoming July increase in his speech at the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Aşıla criticized the current basic salary system and emphasized that this practice was a great injustice for retirees.
 
 
'The root salary application is a strange thing for retirees'
Stating that the increases made on the base salary are not reflected in the real salaries, Aşıla said that the system needs to be reorganized with the words, 'The base salary is not just an injustice, it is a strangeness, a freak. What is the base salary for God's sake?'
 
'The pension increase should be put on the agenda before the Parliament goes on recess'
Stating that the Parliament should address this issue before the increase expected in July, Aşıla said, 'The basic salary regulation should be brought to the Parliament's agenda and the grievances of retirees should be resolved quickly.'
 
'The lowest retirement pension should be reduced to the minimum wage level'
Mehmet Aşıla, who stated that the current lowest retirement salary of 14,469 TL is insufficient, said that this amount should be increased to the minimum wage level. He called on the government by saying, 'The minimum wage should be at least 40 thousand TL.'
