Saadet Party's Birol Aydın: 'Gaza, Jerusalem and Tehran are on the same line; show a clear stance not only in words but also in practice'

Felicity Party Istanbul MP Birol Aydın, in his speech on behalf of the NEW ROAD Group at the Turkish Grand National Assembly General Assembly, drew attention to both forest fires and geopolitical developments in the region. Evaluating the government's stance within the framework of political discussions on Palestine and Iran, Aydın emphasized the lack of concrete steps.

'Forest fires are now a national security issue'
Emphasizing that precautions should be taken as soon as possible due to increasing forest fires in the summer months, Aydın said, “We do not want to lose a single tree this year. Fighting fires is now a matter of national security. That is why we support the İYİ Party’s proposal.”

'The President and Bahçeli's Israel-Iran stance is important but insufficient'
Aydın stated that they found President Erdoğan and MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's words regarding the Israel-Iran conflict positive, and said, "However, we know that these words were also said for Palestine, and no concrete steps have been taken on that front since October 7."

'Gaza, Jerusalem and Tehran are the same line'
Aydin said, “Today, ‘surface defense’ is Gaza, Jerusalem, Tehran. A policy supported not only by statements but also by deterrent force when necessary should be pursued,” adding that Türkiye should implement a more active and clear foreign policy.

'Iran did not bow down, and neither should we'
Stating that Iran has shown resistance in the region by not surrendering to the US and not taking the easy way out, Aydın said, “Türkiye should also stand tall like Iran. Not only rhetoric, but also practice should show this.”

'It is naive to view the missile that hit Tel Aviv from a sectarian perspective'
Criticizing the sectarian debates taking place in the public, Aydin said, “The truth is being distorted from a sectarian perspective. Looking at every missile fired at Israel with the label ‘Iranian’ is thinking from an American perspective.”

'We will not be slaves, we will not bow down'
Concluding his speech with a strong message, Birol Aydın said, “Türkiye must pursue a clear foreign policy, not only in rhetoric but also in action, and must not hesitate to demonstrate its independent stance.”
