The first strike started in the public sector: Workers left a job at Katip Çelebi University

Öz Büro İş Union started a strike at İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University due to the fact that the demands of the public workers were not met in collective bargaining negotiations.

In the press invitation issued by the union, “The demands of the public workers were not met during the public framework protocol process, and the proposals given were not enough to eliminate the shortage of livelihoods”.

Öz Büro İş Union Chairman Baki Gülbaba, in a statement before the strike, drawing attention to the fires in different parts of Türkiye, "We are grateful to all our teams struggling in the middle of the flames. However, it should be known that our payrolls are burning," he said.

Gülbaba, because of the shortage of livelihoods and the cost of living in the homes of employees in the houses of another fire, said, "This strike is the name of the rebellion of people who can not live," he said.

Gülbaba, who also called on confederations, said that the structures standing with the workers' dues should take more effective responsibility.
