Weekend Acupuncture Authority for Family Physicians, Paid Healthcare Right for Foreigners

New regulations in force

With the amendments to the Family Medicine Law, which entered into force on June 15, 2025, significant innovations were put into effect in some services provided in family health centers. The scope of work of family physicians was expanded, special report fees were reduced, and the provision of health services to foreigners was reorganized.

Weekend acupuncture and phytotherapy service

Acupuncture and phytotherapy services, which are currently provided only outside of working hours, can now be provided on weekends and public holidays. The fee for these services has been determined to be lower in family health centers than in other health institutions.

Discount on report fees

Special purpose reports that citizens frequently apply for can now be obtained from family physicians at a more affordable price. These reports will be offered for a fee through the “service pricing list”. However, some reports such as rest reports, ASAL reports and marriage reports will continue to be free.

Paid health services for foreigners

With the new regulation, foreigners without a residence permit will also be able to receive health services from family health centers. These people will be able to benefit from the service by making a payment according to the determined service fee list. On the other hand, foreigners under temporary protection, who are evaluated within the scope of special legislation, will be excluded from this scope. Foreigners with a residence permit will be able to receive health services for 6 months by paying a fee.

Public tariff and online payment option

The new Public Health Services Price Tariff published by the General Directorate of Health Services of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey entered into force as of June 15, 2025. Citizens can make the necessary payments through the Ministry of Health Payment System, which can be accessed via e-Government. In addition, user guides prepared for citizens and tourists are also available in the system.
