2026-2027 civil servants and retirement hike bargain was announced, unions rejected

Approximately 4 million civil servants and 2 million retired civil servants will determine the salary increase in the 8th term collective bargaining negotiations of the government's first hike proposal was announced.

Ministry's proposal
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan for the first 6 months for the year 2026, the second 6 months 6 percent;

Rejection statement from Memur-Sen
Confederation of Officer Unions (Memur-Sen) President Ali Yalcin, said they do not accept the offer, "There is no offer to be negotiated. Officers and pensioners do not have more than 2 years to lose. Base monthly welfare share, we expect an offer equalizing those who do the same job in the public sector," he said.

Demands of trade unions
Officer-Sen, 10 percent of the welfare share for 2026, 25 percent hike in the first 6 months and 10 thousand TL base monthly, the second 6 months demanded 20 percent hike.
Türkiye Kamu-Sen is 7,500 TL Seyyanen hike for all civil servants and retirees, the first half of 2026, 30 percent, the second half 20 percent hike and 10 percent prosperity;

Existing salaries
As of July 2025, the lowest civil servant salary, including family assistance, is applied as 50 thousand 503 TL and the lowest civil servant pension is 22 thousand 671 TL.
