509 People Caught in Irregular Immigration Controls Across the Country: Rate Dropped from 74% to 2% with ID Checks

Comprehensive inspections continue to combat irregular migration
A total of 509 irregular immigrants were caught in inspections conducted throughout the country by the Ministry of Interior. Identity checks were carried out meticulously in applications carried out through mobile immigration points.

The rate fell from 74.5% to 1.8%
In the mobile immigration points application launched two years ago, three out of every four people whose IDs were checked turned out to be irregular migrants, while this rate was recorded as 74.5%. According to the latest data, this rate has decreased to 1.8%. The statement drew attention to the fact that now only two out of every 100 people whose IDs are checked are irregular migrants.

Türkiye is no longer a transit route
It was stated that with the increase in the effectiveness of inspections, Türkiye has lost its characteristic of being both a target country and a transit route for irregular migration. In the statement of the Ministry of Interior, it was emphasized that 'the irregular migration route has changed' and Türkiye has become a country that provides safe and effective control in this process.
