A 4.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Göksun district of Kahramanmaraş at 22:05. The tremor, which occurred at a depth of 7 kilometers, was also felt in surrounding districts.

According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) data, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Göksun district of Kahramanmaraş at 22:05 on Saturday, May 17, 2025. It was reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 7.01 kilometers underground.
It was also felt in neighboring provinces
The earthquake was felt in the Kahramanmaraş center and surrounding settlements as well as Göksun. It was stated that no negative reports have been made so far and there was no loss of life or property.
A statement is awaited from AFAD and local authorities
AFAD and local government units reported that necessary checks were ongoing in the region and that developments would be shared with the public. Citizens were asked to follow the announcements to be made through official channels.
