BEST Party Metin Ergun: “This offer is not a threat directly to Mugla, not olive groves”

Reactions against the law proposal, including the permission of mining activities in olive groves in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, continue.

In his speech, Ergun said, “The government has brought similar arrangements about olive groves 10 times before. Each time it was taken back either on legal reasons or social reaction. This proposal is 11th and most dangerous.”

"So -called public interest, in reality company profit"
“This proposal is the license to open unlimited mining fields to pro -companies under the name of public interest, Erg Ergun said, although Turkey acknowledges that energy is needed, it cannot be met by destroying nature.

"At least 50 villages are threatened in Muğla"
Stating that the proposal will be effective especially in Muğla, Ergun said, “Within the scope of this regulation, approximately 50 villages are under direct threats in Muğla. It is unacceptable to target olive groves, forests and protected areas.”

"We see the homeland not only as a border but with its nature"
Stating that they argue that development should be in harmony with nature as a good party, Ergun said, “The homeland is not only the border; it is the land of homeland, its water, its forest, it is olive grove.

"This offer is not development, but the plunder model"
Finally, Ergun called for MPs, "Do not sacrifice the fertility of these lands for the sake of rent. We are in favor of the high added value of nature. For this reason, we vote for the proposal," he said.
