CHP Deputy Chairman Erhan Adem: "At this price farmer can not plant, can not live - beet purchase price should be at least 3,500 TL"

CHP Deputy Chairman in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Erhan Adem, Türkşeker announced for the year 2025 made a written statement about the purchase price of sugar beet.

Adem, "At this price, the farmer can neither plant nor live. At least 3,500 TL should be," he said.

Input costs are forcing the manufacturer
Adam, in the last year, drawing attention to the increases in agricultural inputs fertilizer prices 110 percent, diesel prices 95 percent, irrigation and energy costs increased by 120 percent, he said.

Threat warning for sugar industry
CHP Adem, the price announced not only the farmer, but also Turkey threatened the sugar industry, he said.

Four -item call from the CHP
Adam stated that the beet purchase price should be updated to at least 3,500 TL per ton and listed the following suggestions:

1. Prices, production costs and farmers should be re -determined by considering the welfare.

2. Net support policies should be announced to the farmer before planting.

3. Diesel, fertilizer and irrigation support should be increased and paid before harvest.

4. Türkşeker and public sugar factories should be restructured in favor of the manufacturer.

Adam, "Agriculture is not only economic, but a strategic sector. Today, those who forget the beet, will have to import sugar tomorrow," he said.
