Erdogan said at the Türkiye-Azerbaijan-Pakistan Summit in Lachin, 'We will carry our trilateral cooperation forward'
Speaking at the Turkey-Azerbaijan-Pakistan Trilateral Summit held in Lachin, Azerbaijan, President Erdoğan called for increased regional solidarity, development of joint projects and a common stance on international crises. While strategic decisions were made on defense, transportation and energy at the summit, leaders decided to institutionalize trilateral cooperation.

The leaders of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Pakistan came together at the Turkey-Azerbaijan-Pakistan Trilateral Summit held in the liberated city of Lachin in Azerbaijan. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif delivered messages of regional cooperation at the summit.
Emphasis on strategic partnership
In his speech, President Erdoğan touched on the importance of the solidarity between the three countries turning into a strategic partnership, saying, 'We are further strengthening the bond between our countries, which have a population of approximately 350 million and an economic size of 1.5 trillion dollars.' Erdoğan stated that Laçın Airport will contribute to the region and will be a symbol of development and integration.
Pakistan-India tensions and Türkiye's role
Referring to his meeting with the Pakistani Prime Minister whom he hosted in Istanbul on May 25, Erdoğan drew attention to the ceasefire declared between Pakistan and India. Emphasizing that Türkiye is ready to make any kind of contribution in this process, Erdoğan said that they hope the ceasefire will evolve into permanent peace.
Common steps against common threats
Erdoğan announced that decisions were made at the summit to develop a common vision on many topics, primarily transportation, energy, defense and the fight against terrorism. He said, "We see the development of our joint mobility as a necessity, not a choice."
International call for Gaza
Addressing the situation in Gaza in his speech, Erdoğan called for increased international pressure on the Israeli government. He said, "We invite the entire world to take more responsibility for the establishment of a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid."
Aliyev: Strategic role in energy security
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev drew attention to the symbolic meaning of holding the summit on Azerbaijan's Independence Day and in the liberated Lachin. Stating that the three countries play a strategic role in energy security, Aliyev thanked Türkiye and Pakistan.
Şerif: Emphasis on triple brotherhood
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in his speech, emphasized that solidarity with Turkey and Azerbaijan has strengthened and that the common stance continues, especially on issues such as Kashmir, Karabakh and the TRNC. He congratulated Erdoğan on the recent developments in Türkiye's fight against the PKK.
Decisions taken after the summit
At the summit, it was decided to hold regular summits between the three countries, establish coordination mechanisms between the foreign ministries, and develop joint projects in the fields of trade, transportation and cultural interaction. Deepening defense industry cooperation and activating transportation corridors were also among the priority agendas of the summit.
