Fake discount at the market in Pursaklar: Same product, same price, 'campaign' label

The price did not change, but the label did In a video recorded at a supermarket in Pursaklar district of Ankara, a new price tag with the phrase "discount" was issued for Alya brand 900 gram gin corn. According to the label, the discounted price of the product is 29.90 TL. However, it can be clearly seen that the price of the product is still 29.90 TL on the previous label behind the shelf.

Although the weight of the product was the same, the word "discount" was added to the label to give the impression of a campaign. However, the fact that there was no price difference reveals that a misleading impression was created through visual manipulation.

Reaction from citizens Consumers state that they frequently come across such practices in grocery stores and that they only play with the label without a real discount. It is stated that these practices with visual deception damage trust.

It may be against the law Consumer rights experts state that showing the product as if it has been discounted even though the price has not changed may violate the Law on Consumer Protection. It is emphasized that such deceptive campaigns should be inspected and necessary sanctions should be imposed.
