Described as the "four-leaf clover of Yeşilçam", Filiz Akın left her mark on Turkish cinema along with Türkan Şoray, Hülya Koçyiğit and Fatma Girik and was known as the "European face of the silver screen".
Akın, who began her career in 1962, became known for important productions such as "Gurbet Kuşları" (1964), "Kader" (1968), and "Ankara Ekspresi" (1970). In 1971, she won the Best Actress Award at the 8th Golden Orange Film Festival for her role as Hilda in the film "Ankara Ekspresi", and was deemed worthy of Yeşilçam's most prestigious awards. Akın also attracted attention as the best-dressed actress of her time and was known for her elegance in the cinema.
Filiz Akın said goodbye to cinema in 1975. After cinema, Akın became a singer and settled in Paris in the 1980s, where she lived with her husband. Akın returned to the screens in 1989 and met with her old audience with the series "Geçmiş Bahar Mimozaları".
