GOOD Party Hüsmen Kırkpınar: “Aliağa has become a poisonous ship cemetery, Türkiye is not imperialist scrap”

GOOD Party Izmir Deputy Hüsmen Kırkpınar, TBMM Genel Kurulu’nda yaptığı konuşmada, British warship HMS Bristol, which is planned to dismantle in İzmir Aliağa üzerinden, Türkiye’nin çevre ve halk sağlığı politikalarını sert ifadelerle eleştirdi.

"HMS Bristol is the symbol of a poisonous heritage"

Kırkpınar, İngiltere'nin kendi topraklarında sökmediği HMS Bristol gemisinin Türkiye’ye gönderilmesini, "A carcinogenic bomb" olarak nitelendirdi. Gemi envanterinde yüzlerce noktada asbest tespit edildiğini söyleyen Kırkpınar, "Substances that cause irreversible diseases when he is inhaled at the bottom of the nose of the people in Aliağa” dedi.

"Türkiye is not a dump of developed countries"

Kırkpınar, Türkiye’nin Basel Sözleşmesi’ne taraf olduğunu hatırlatarak, “Although dangerous waste imports are prohibited, this contract is actually violated. Public health and environment are ignored with the ambition of money” ifadelerini kullandı.

"25 British warships have been dismantled in Aliağa in the last 20 years"

İzmir Milletvekili, İngiltere’den Türkiye’ye gönderilen ve Aliağa’da sökümü yapılan 25 savaş gemisine dikkat çekti. “This dismantling policy makes Turkey a target for cheap labor and weak environmental controls” dedi.

"Those responsible should be brought to the judiciary"

Kırkpınar, HMS Bristol’ün söküm işlemlerinin derhâl durdurulması gerektiğini belirterek, "Those who accept this ship to the country, those who ignore the asbesty should account for an account” dedi.

"The Ministry does not fulfill its audit duty"

Gemi söküm tesislerinin kuru, havuzsuz, denetimsiz şekilde çalıştırıldığını söyleyen Kırkpınar, Çevre, Şehircilik ve İklim Değişikliği Bakanlığı’nı göreve çağırdı. "All reports and audit results should be announced to the public, only Turkish ships should be dismantled" dedi.
