Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş in the UN: "A better world begins in the family with the foundation of society"
Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stated that the Family and Social Services Institution formed the basis of global solidarity and stated that the Children's Rights Convention is a call for the whole world.
Within the scope of the 80th General Assembly of the United Nations, the Ministry of Family and Social Services organized a side event at the UN Headquarters in New York with the theme of “Global Solidarity Starting from Family”.
In his speech at the event, Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stressed that a better world started in the family.
Protection of Family Institution
Göktaş recalled that the family is defined as the basic unit of the society in international documents, and that the protection of the family in Turkey is a constitutional task.
Children's Rights Convention in the Digital World
In his speech, Minister Göktaş also pointed out the safety of children in digital environments and mentioned the importance of the “Children's Rights Convention in the Digital World”, which was recently signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The program ended with a family photo shoot with representatives of the participating countries.
