Özgür Özel and Mansur Yavaş in Bayburt: 'Attacks on Our Municipalities Will Not Go Unpunished'
Republican People's Party Chairman Özgür Özel and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş spoke at a rally held in Bayburt. Özel, who harshly criticized the court decisions and arrests, said, "We will stop this injustice together with the people by fighting on every front." Mansur Yavaş explained the social aid and producer support policies and gave the message, "We did not leave the people alone."

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel addressed citizens at the 'We Stand by the Will of the People' rally organized by his party in Bayburt. The opening speech of the rally was made by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, and harsh criticisms of the government came to the fore.
Mansur Yavaş: 'Aid was not cut, those in need were supported'
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş emphasized social municipality in his speech. He said that regular aid was provided to 210 thousand families in Ankara, 2,100 TL cash support was provided to 74 thousand retirees every month, and aid was provided to 15 thousand minimum wage earners. He also listed practices such as nursery aid and free transportation for students, and said, "We did not abandon the people to poverty."
'The people will teach those who create these obstacles a lesson at the ballot box'
Özgür Özel criticized the practices towards CHP municipalities in his speech at the rally. Özel, who emphasized the success experienced in the local elections, argued that the municipalities had gained the trust of the people and that this success disturbed the government. Özel said, 'If the attacks on our municipalities continue, the people will teach a very big lesson at the ballot box.'
İmamoğlu's letter was read at the rally
At the rally, a letter sent by the arrested Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu to the people of Bayburt was also read. In the letter, İmamoğlu said, "They want to ban us from politics. But they will not be able to do this. The people of Bayburt know how to struggle."
Bayburt's problems were brought to the agenda
Özgür Özel, who also touched upon Bayburt's economic and demographic problems in his speech, said that agriculture was shrinking, industrialization was almost non-existent, and young people were forced to migrate. Özel said, 'Bayburt is shrinking, while Turkey is growing, Bayburt is regressing. We will change this injustice together.'
Call for public workers and minimum wage earners
Özel stated that the public workers' expectation of a raise was not met and said, "We will stand by the workers, retirees and employees. We will get the interim raise by force." Özel, who claimed that the TÜİK data was unrealistic, called on the unions to fight.
Support message for victims of decrees and internships
At the end of his speech, the CHP leader also included the victims of the Statutory Decrees, teachers who were not appointed, and the victims of internships. Özel stated that they were with these groups and that the legal struggle would continue. He said, "We will meet with every segment of the country on the basis of justice."
Message of support to Palestine
Özel, who touched on foreign policy in one part of his speech, criticized the situation in Palestine with harsh words. Claiming that the AKP government did not take a sufficient stance on this issue, Özel announced that the opposition parties would come together and hold a rally for Palestine in Üsküdar.
'Come on, challenge' call
Özgür Özel also responded to the accusations against him. Özel stated that all allegations should be shared with the public in a hearing to be held on TRT screens and said, 'If you trust your prosecutor, let the court be set up and the public watch.'
