Özgür Özel called for a joint step for Palestine in the Turkish Grand National Assembly: "Work, not holidays, complete cessation of trade, air aid and leaders' visit to Gaza"
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, at the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, which convened extraordinarily under the title of Israel's attacks in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, suggested that the Parliament work uninterruptedly without recess, that all trade with Israel, including third countries, be completely stopped with an official circular, that humanitarian aid be provided from the air with the Turkish Air Force, that all political party leaders organize a joint support visit to Palestine under the chairmanship of Erdoğan, and that Turkey participates fully in international judicial processes.

Özel suggested that the General Assembly work continuously without going on recess.
Request for a complete cessation of trade
Özel, who demanded that trade with Israel be completely cut off, including transactions through third countries, with an official circular, said, "The practices before and after the circular dated December 15, 2024 have become public."
Aerial humanitarian aid and Palestine Commission
Özel asked for a political decision to be made for the Turkish Air Force to provide humanitarian aid from the air: "With an instruction, we will go to Palestine and end the hunger there by raining it from the sky."
Joint visit proposal to leaders
Özel said, “I invite all opposition parties in Turkey, under Erdoğan's leadership, to make a support visit to Palestine.”
Emphasis on sanctions and jurisdiction on international grounds
Özel wanted an embargo call on Israel at the United Nations, an official request for the intervention of the UN Peace Force, Turkey's involvement in the International Court of Justice processes, and diplomatic/logistical support for the documentation of war crimes: "Turkey, the most powerful state in the region, should have some weight; this is expected from us."
Criticisms against the USA and Trump
Özel, who criticized the US support for Israel in his speech, also referred to Trump and said, "There is no blame for the US or Israel; on the contrary, if the Minister is doing politics with the TikTok approach, he will get the answer he deserves."
Historical references and CHP line
Özel emphasized the CHP's historical stance on Palestine and commemorated the opening of the Ankara representative office of the Palestine Liberation Organization during the reign of Bülent Ecevit as a "milestone".
