Özgür Özel: We will break the hand that reaches into the pockets of the poor, we will put an end to the mentality of hitting those who fall down

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made evaluations about the agenda at his party's Group Meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

Criticizing the economic picture, Özel said that the fact that football players and coaches are at the top of the tax record holders list shows income inequality.

Drawing attention to the increase in private and individual borrowing, he said, "Personal loan debt broke a record with 5.3 trillion liras. Only in the first 8 months of this year, 2 million people were put under enforcement proceedings. 3 out of every 10 people in the country are in enforcement proceedings."

Özel also criticized the interest policies of the Central Bank and stated that credit card interest rates are a burden on the citizens.

Making evaluations about the "Cooperative Case" process in Izmir, Özel emphasized that the party organization is in solidarity even though the Izmir provincial presidents are in prison.

Stating that he will continue his speech with determination, Özel said, "Every morning, I get up from bed to put those who kick people on the ground to their place, and I will continue to do so."
