PKK/KCK membership of the Mayor of Esenyurt Ahmet Özer on trial for judicial control

In Istanbul, "Armed terrorist organization PKK/KCK membership" on charges of arrested and then dismissed from his post Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Ozer, 14th High Criminal Court appeared before the judge.
The public prosecutor demanded the continuation of Özer's detention.
Ahmet Özer was arrested on 4 November 2023 in the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Detention for another crime continues
Ozer was arrested on 21 January within the scope of an investigation against a criminal organization allegedly led by Aziz İhsan Aktaş.
Witness statements and defenses
Erkan Çakır, who was heard as a witness at the hearing, reiterated his allegations that Özer was linked to the PKK.
The defendant Ahmet Özer claimed that the allegations were unfounded.
