TAIB Vice President Elnur Eltürk: 'Five Turkish states will recognize Northern Cyprus very soon'

Cyprus unrest in the Turkish world
Elnur Eltürk, Vice President of the Turkish Elderly People's Union (TAİB) and International Relations Expert, stated that the recent relations established by some Turkish states with the Greek Cypriot side have caused discomfort in the Turkish world. Eltürk stated that in the near future, five Turkish states will officially recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
 
 
TDT membership and emphasis on solidarity
Eltürk stated that Northern Cyprus has an observer status in the Organization of Turkic States (TDT) and that this status strengthens the solidarity between the Turkic world and the TRNC. Recalling that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave clear messages on this issue at the TDT Council of Heads of State Summit in Budapest, Eltürk said that Azerbaijani President İlham Aliyev is also closely following this process.
 
'A Turkish world without Northern Cyprus is unthinkable'
Eltürk stated in his statement, 'As Erdoğan and Aliyev also emphasized, a Turkish world without Northern Cyprus is unthinkable. For this reason, we expect the TRNC to be accepted as a full member of the TDT and then to be officially recognized by the Turkish states.'
 
Azerbaijan-TRNC relations are getting stronger
Stressing that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is an inseparable part of the Turkish world, Eltürk stated that high-level relations have been established between Azerbaijan and the TRNC and that these relations are also carried out at the inter-parliamentary level. He said that President Ersin Tatar is officially received by President Ilham Aliyev during every visit he makes to Azerbaijan and that this clearly shows Baku's political approach.
 
The recognition process can be accelerated
Eltürk stated that other Turkish states are also expected to strengthen their political, economic and cultural relations with Northern Cyprus in the near future. Emphasizing that international recognition of the TRNC is now a necessity of the time, Eltürk said, 'Leaving Northern Cyprus alone causes a wrong perception in the Turkish world. This process will be resolved very soon.'
