US attacks three nuclear facilities in Iran
The US has directly intervened for the first time in the ongoing Israel-Iran war. US forces targeted Iran's nuclear facilities in the cities of Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. The operation was announced by US President Donald Trump.

Trump said in a statement on his social media account: "We carried out a bombing of the Fordo facility. All of our planes are now outside of Iranian airspace. Our planes are returning home."

'Ford is no more'
Trump stated in his statement, 'Fordo is no more. The US attack on Iran is a historic moment for the US, Israel and the world. Iran must agree to end this war now.' He also stated that a full-capacity bomb was dropped on the Fordo facility.

B-2 stealth aircraft and Tomahawk missiles were used
The US used B-2 stealth bombers in the attack. These planes are known as 'bunker killers' designed to hit underground facilities. It was reported that the US hit Fordo with 6 bunker buster munitions and the other two facilities with 30 Tomahawk missiles launched from American submarines.

Iran: 'All options are on the table to defend our sovereignty'
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi argued that the US violated international law with the attacks. Arakchi stated that 'Iran reserves all options to protect its sovereignty, people and interests within the scope of the UN Charter.'

It was carried out with a 37-hour direct flight
According to the news of The New York Times based on US officials, the B-2 bombers that hit Iran carried out the operation after a 37-hour flight, taking off from an air base in the state of Missouri.

Israel closes airspace
The Israel Airports Authority announced that it had closed all airspace to flights following the attack, but land crossings through Egypt and Jordan were kept open.

UN: 'Direct threat to international peace'
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described the US attack as a "direct threat to international peace and security." Guterres said the risk of conflict in the region spiraling out of control had increased significantly and called on all parties to exercise restraint.

Message of support from Netanyahu
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "The US and Trump acted very strongly tonight." Netanyahu used the expressions, "Trump's bold decision to target Iran's nuclear facilities will change history."

Iran: No nuclear leak
An Iranian official confirmed the attack on the Fordo facility and said there was no nuclear leak. The attacks in Natanz and Isfahan were also confirmed by Iranian officials.
