Yeni Yol Group Deputy Chairman Selçuk Özdağ: “PTT's 6-Year Loss Exceeded 8.6 Billion TL”
Yeni Yol Group Deputy Chairman and Muğla Deputy Selçuk Özdağ brought the allegations that PTT had a loss of 8 billion 605 million TL in the last 6 years to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
Allegations regarding the financial structure of the Postal and Telegraph Organization Joint Stock Company, one of Turkey's 185-year-old public institutions, were brought to the Parliament.
According to the information and allegations reflected in the press, PTT's total loss in the last 6 years reached 8 billion 605 million TL.
Board Fees Attracted Attention
According to the information in the proposal, a total of 9 million 268 thousand TL was paid to 6 board members in 2023.
Selçuk Özdağ pointed out that this increase rate was even higher than the inflation rates and TÜİK data, which reduced the purchasing power of citizens in the same period.
“Are Public Resources Used Effectively?”
Assoc.
Among the questions in the proposal were the legal, financial and administrative reasons for more than doubling the total payment despite the decrease in the number of board members, on which performance criteria the 116 percent wage increase was based, and whether these increases were approved by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
Finally, whether any administrative, financial or legal investigation has been initiated against the board members serving in 2024, whether the wages to be paid to the board members for 2025 have been determined and the increase or decrease rates of these amounts compared to 2024 are among the issues that the Ministry is asked to answer.
