AK Party Sivas Deputy Rukiye Toy: "A comprehensive law proposal has been prepared for the protection of national parks and sustainability of biodiversity"

Rukiye Toy, AK Party Sivas Deputy and Deputy Chairman of Women's Branch, announced that they submitted a comprehensive law proposal for the protection of natural, historical and cultural values, sustainability of biodiversity and effective management of national parks.

AK Party Sivas Deputy and Women's Branch Deputy Chairman Rukiye Toy stated that an important legal regulation was submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly in order to protect natural, historical and cultural riches, sustainability of biological diversity and transfer of protected areas to future generations.

Toy stated that the "Proposal on Making Amendments to the National Parks Law and Certain Laws and the Decree Law No. 375", of which he was one of the first signatories, was submitted to the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly under the chairmanship of AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler.

The powers of the General Directorate of Nature Conservation are being expanded
Within the scope of the proposal, it is aimed to reorganize the duties and powers of the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, ensure effective supervision in protected areas and protect biological diversity.

Toy emphasized that the regulation aims to manage nature tourism sustainably, strengthen environmental awareness and make penalties more deterrent.

New employment areas and administrative regulations
With the proposed law, "hunting and nature protection officers" will be employed, and the inspection and permit processes in protected areas will be redefined.

Penalties are being increased, sustainable management is aimed
The regulation grants the authority to directly intervene in illegal construction in protected areas and increases administrative sanctions for activities that harm the environment.

Toy said, “I think this regulation, which will protect nature, strengthen environmental awareness and give the foundation culture a more solid structure, is an important step for our country.”

Parliamentary process of the proposal
The proposal submitted to the Presidency of the Parliament on October 10, 2025 was submitted to the Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs Commission as the main commission;

The proposal was signed by Sivas Deputy Rukiye Toy and Konya Deputy Mehmet Baykan, as well as 54 MPs.
