CHP ANTALYA MP MUSTAFA ERDEM: “The Retiree Wants Repayment for the Premiums He Has Paid for Years, Not Alms”
Antalya Deputy Mustafa Erdem, in his speech at the GNAT General Assembly on the 2nd article of the Bill on Amendments to Certain Laws No. 248 and Decree Law No. 375, criticized the fact that pensions were kept below the hunger line and the economic choices of the AKP government.

Criticism of Pensions and Hunger Line
Stating that the pensions are below the hunger threshold, Erdem said, "The minimum pension will be 20 thousand liras; they give good news and they are kind enough to do so. Even TÜİK's disguised figures cannot hide the truth. What is the hunger limit? 30 thousand liras. What is the figure you gave? 20 thousand liras. You see that 90 percent of the retirees should have a salary below the hunger line."
Economic Choices and Social Justice
Erdem criticized the reasons for budget balance and lack of resources and said, "You come to us and say 'budget balance', but when it comes to deleting the taxes of pro-government companies, 768 billion liras disappear overnight. 2.7 trillion liras are paid to interest lobbies. When it comes to the poor, budget balance comes to your mind."
Call to the General Assembly
Erdem concluded his speech with the words, "Hodri square! Let's give the retiree a decent living wage. The retiree does not want charity, but the reward of the premiums he has paid for years, and his right, which is halal like his mother's white milk."
