CHP Yankı Bağcıoğlu: "Problems of Martyr Families and Veterans are waiting for an emergency solution"

Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman Yankcıoğlu, September 19 Veterans Day made a press release.

Bağcıoğlu reminded that September 19 was the date when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was given the title of “Gazi ve and the victory of the battle of Sakarya Square.

Martyrs' Families and Gaze Problems
Bagcıoğlu said that the CHP visited 205 martyrs and Gazi Association in 112 provinces and districts in the last year and stated that problems continue in many areas such as salary improvements, access to health services, employment and education support.

Bağcıoğlu stated that solutions were developed with the participation of 120 martyrs and veterans in the “Vefa Workshop for Heroes” held in Istanbul on 12-13 June 2024 and that the report prepared as a result of the workshop was presented to the public on 8 July 2024.

18 law proposals submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly
After the workshop, 18 law proposals prepared by the CHP is still not taken to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Bagcioglu, "These proposals are a beginning to pay our debt to our heroes. Parliament, this loyalty debt to fulfill the debt.

Bids include salary improvements, educational support for martyrs and veterans children, expansion of health rights for veterans, expanding the right to employment, and “Gaze of Honor” status.

Call to local governments

Finally, Bağcıoğlu, who called for all political parties, said, “Our families and veterans receive salaries below the level that will live in peace, pay contributions in hospitals, employment rights are restricted. Emergency solution should be found for this embarrassing picture”.
