Gelecek Holding Started a Giant Oil Investment with Refinery and 232 Wells in Kyrgyzstan
Tacen Investment Inc. aims to strengthen energy supply security with a 232-well oil production project that will last until 2042, while establishing a refinery with an annual capacity of 150 thousand tons in the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan. Türkiye-Kyrgyzstan economic relations are moving to a new dimension.
Two-phase energy investment from Gelecek Holding to Kyrgyzstan
Tacen Investment Inc., a subsidiary of Gelecek Investment Holding, is carrying out two strategic energy projects in Kyrgyzstan. Within the scope of the investments made in the Batken region, an oil refinery was established, while long-term oil production studies were initiated in 232 wells.
Kadamjai Refinery nears completion
Built in the Kadamjai district of Batken, the K-NPZ Kadamjai Refinery Co. Ltd. was designed to have an annual crude oil processing capacity of 150,000 tons. The physical realization rate of the facility has reached 97 percent, while the refinery aims to reduce the country's largely import-based energy needs.
Production in 232 wells will continue until 2042
Tacen Investment Inc. will continue exploration, renovation and production activities in 232 oil wells through K-Neft Kyrgyz & Turkish Public Open Inc. through the long-term cooperation signed with Kyrgyzstan’s state energy company KyrgyzTransNefteGas until 2042. The oil obtained from these wells will be processed directly in the Kadamjai Refinery.
'A new era in Türkiye-Kyrgyzstan energy cooperation'
Future Investment Holding Board Chairman Tahsin Çimen stated that the investments in question are of great strategic importance as well as economic. Çimen said, 'These projects we have implemented in Kyrgyzstan aim to increase regional energy supply security, support local economic development and further strengthen trade relations between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan.'
Opening ceremonies will be held with high-level participation
The official opening of the projects is planned to be held in the next two months. High-level state officials from Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan are expected to attend the openings.
