TBB Vice President Vahap Seçer: “The place of our presidents is not the dungeons of Silivri, but the people next to the people”

Union of Municipalities of Türkiye, 53 municipalities donated 54 new service vehicles to 53 municipalities at the Çankaya Municipality Campus.

Speaking at the ceremony, Seçer reminded that there were 27 mayors who were not in office despite the fact that they were elected by the public in the 2024 elections and that 17 of them were in prison.

"Peace starts from local"
Seçer said that the mayors may play a key role in the solution of the ongoing problems in Turkey and said, “Those who deal with the fortifications on the interior should start by releasing the mayors. Peace starts from the local, we are the ambassadors of peace of our cities”.

"Target 534 to reach the vehicle grant"
Seçer said that the vehicle grants were made with criteria above the parties, “We have spent 2 billion 101 million pounds for 464 vehicles so far. 115 more vehicles will be distributed in September and October. We will deliver a total of 534 vehicles to municipalities until the end of 2025”.

After the turnkey was made at the ceremony, a collective souvenir photo was taken and new vehicles were sent to the municipalities.
