Istanbul Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Training and Research Hospital was opened with a ceremony held on Saturday, May 17, 2025. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu attended the ceremony held under the auspices of the Presidency.

Minister Memişoğlu: 'We are putting into service a new symbol of our love for this country'
 
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu stated that the hospital will serve not only Istanbul but also all of Türkiye and the surrounding region. Minister Memişoğlu stated that the new hospital was planned with a science and technology-oriented approach and said, 'We are opening a new symbol of our love for this country.'

705 Beds, 88 Polyclinics, Robotics and Virtual Reality Based Treatment Opportunities
 
Istanbul Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Education and Research Hospital will provide service with a bed capacity of 705, 88 polyclinics, 5 operating rooms and 6 intensive care beds. The facility, which has a closed area of ​​102,460 square meters, has a parking capacity of 570 vehicles. The hospital also has units such as robotic rehabilitation units, virtual reality rooms, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation center, lymphedema and oncology rehabilitation, and orthopedics-supported orthosis-prosthesis workshop.

Minister Memişoğlu emphasized that the new center is not just a treatment institution and expressed that the hospital aims to increase the quality of life of citizens and touch their lives. Drawing attention with its education and scientific production capacity, the hospital also aims to contribute to research and innovation in the field of health.

Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu stated that the transformation in Türkiye's health system is a global example.
