Yusuf Tekin in Turkmenistan: 'We Will Take New Steps for Education Cooperation'

Inter-Delegation Meeting in Turkmenistan
 
Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, who went to Turkmenistan for various contacts, held an inter-delegation meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Bayramgül Orazdurdıyeva and Minister of Education Gurbangeldiyev Jumamyrat Shamyradovich.
 
Touching on the importance of the meeting, Orazdurdıyeva said, 'We thank you for accepting our invitation and visiting our country within the scope of the International Mathematics Olympiad. Mutual visits strengthen the unilateral and multilateral relations of our countries.'
 
New Emphasis on Collaboration in Education
 
Minister Tekin stated that Turkmenistan has a special place for Türkiye and said, 'Turkey is the first country to recognize Turkmenistan after its independence. We came here today with a strong team as a sign of our brotherhood.'
 
Tekin said, 'I have been serving as the Minister of National Education for two years. We hosted Jumamyrat Bey in Türkiye approximately two months ago. We initiated important collaborations with Turkmenistan during my term as undersecretary between 2013-2018. We wish to sign new agreements during this visit.'
 
Maarif Foundation Emphasis and Curriculum Harmony
 
Reminding that the Turkish Maarif Foundation has over 100 thousand students in 55 countries, Tekin emphasized that the Turkish Maarif Foundation should also operate in Turkmenistan.
 
Tekin, who also touched upon the Joint Turkish-Turkmen School, said, 'We will evaluate together the subjects you would like to see included in our curriculum regarding our common history and culture. It is essential that the education cooperation agreement is signed quickly.'
 
Thank You Messages from Turkmen
 
Orazdurdıyeva expressed her satisfaction with the contacts in Türkiye and said, 'Our Minister of Education gained positive experiences during his visit to Türkiye in February. In this context, the relevant bureaucrats of our Ministry will also visit Türkiye.'
 
Orazdurdıyeva, who stated that the information provided regarding the Maarif Foundation's work was valuable, said, 'We will evaluate the contribution of TMF to our country. We attach importance to the training of Turkish experts. Turkish is taught as a second language in some of our schools and this language is also taught in our universities.'
 
Praise for Türkiye from Turkmenistan Education Minister
 
Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Gurbangeldiyev Shamyradovich expressed his satisfaction with Minister Tekin accepting their invitation and visiting Turkmenistan.
 
Shamyradovich said, "These talks, which are a continuation of the meeting held in Ankara in February, will create stronger cooperation between the two countries in the field of education. We are pursuing a strategic partnership with Turkey to bring education in our country to world standards."
 
Cultural Gift Giving at Meals
 
Following the meetings, Minister Tekin attended a dinner hosted in his honor by Turkmenistan Education Minister Shamyradovich. Tekin was presented with a kaftan and a kalpak, traditional Turkmen costumes, during the event.
 
The delegation also included the Ambassador to Ashgabat Ahmet Demirok, the Director General of European Union and Foreign Relations of the Ministry of National Education Tuba Korkmaz and the General Manager of Support Services Ömür Fatih Karakullukçu.
