Minister Bayraktar: "We will export 900 megawatts of electricity to Syria in the first quarter of 2025"

Energy exports to Syria are increasing
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar gave information about Turkey's energy diplomacy, energy export to Syria and regional collaborations in an interview with SKY News Arabia.

Electrical capacity target 900 megawatt
Stating that a total of 281 megawatts of electricity have been exported from eight ports to Syria, Bayraktar said that this amount will be increased in 360 megawates in a few weeks.

Petroleum infrastructure and international cooperation
Stating that Syria's oil infrastructure should be modernized, Bayraktar said that sustainable electricity and basic infrastructure can be provided by cooperating with international oil companies.

Türkiye-Iraqi oil pipeline preparation for the new agreement
Stating that the Türkiye-Iraqi Petroleum Pipeline has a capacity of 1.5 million barrels per day, but never full capacity is used, Bayraktar said that Iraq does not meet the current needs of the current agreement, they offer a new draft and technical negotiations will begin soon.

Search activities in Pakistan and other countries
Bayraktar stated that Turkey's energy strategy is also evaluated in the energy strategy of Turkey and that activities continue in Azerbaijan, Iraq, Libya, Niger, Somalia and Pakistan.
